Money from a Web site
Once you have
a web site set up, there are many ways you can make a living
from your site. Some of the ways you can make money are:
1. Sell your
own products online. In this case you would have a regular
business that sells a product or service, but either in
place of or in addition to traditional marketing channels
you would use the Internet to advertise or promote your
business.
2. You can
put affiliate ads on your site. This is called affiliate
marketing. You become an affiliate for other merchants such
as Amazon or Target. With this approach you put ads on your
site and if the web site viewer makes a purchase or takes
some other desired action on he merchant site, you get a
commission.
3. You can
place pay per click (PPC) ads on your site(s). One of
the most popular and lucrative PPC programs is Google's
Adsense.
4. Make web
sites to sell for a profit. Many people don't like to
start web sites from scratch. In some cases if you make
a site around well paying topics, you can sell the site
yo someone else instead of maintaining it yourself.
5. Develop
a newsletter in association with your site. You can
then put sell ads or products within your newsletter.
6. Sell text
ads on your site.
7. Create a directory
and charge one time or annual directory review fee
for companies to be listed in your directory.
8. Have some
articles or forums for free, and then charge a subscription
to people to access private forums or articles.
9. Have an online
auction site.
10. Charge people
to put classified ads on your site.
11. Put banner
ads on your site.
12. Sell e-books
from your site, either ones your write or have someone else
write.
